The Alma Harmony XL Nd-Yag Laser system utilizes a specially designed ClearVein handpiece. This is uniquely formulated to target veins and lesions. The ClearVein laser vein removal is 100% non-invasive, making it safe, effective, and comfortable.
The laser emits the correct wavelengths of light to be absorbed by the hemoglobin in the treated veins, while not penetrating the surrounding skin. As the blood in the veins absorbs the light, the heat reaction causes the blood to coagulate and break down the protein in the vein wall. This vein collapses and dissolves, and is eliminated by the body as it disposes of waste naturally.
Sclerotherapy involves injections using a salt-based solution that is injected into spider veins or smaller varicose veins, typically in the leg. Once injected, the solution irritates the vein’s lining. This causes the vein to collapse and be absorbed into body where it is eliminated. The body then simply reroutes blood flow to healthy veins in the area that aren’t visible.
Treated veins take a few weeks to fade away. In some rare instances, stubborn veins may need more than one sclerotherapy treatment. While sclerotherapy is most often done for cosmetic reasons, it can also improve symptoms related to varicose veins, including aching, swelling, burning or night cramping.
